Deeper and deeper – Google in a legal rut
(rt) Yet another trademark violation case for Google to tackle: JTH Tax, Inc. filed for an injunction against the search engine due to a competitor’s featuring their trademarked term “Liberty Tax Service” in their AdWords campaign. Apparently, the company sent Google a Cease and Desist letter, but to no avail.
What makes this case somewhat weird is the fact that Google seems to have ignored the letter for over a month, rather than take the ads down.
Slowly but surely it’s becoming a bore: with hardly a day passing without some law suit or another being filed against Google, one seriously wonders how long it will take until the “Do no evil” giant finally topples once and for all …
