The End of Click Fraud? Hm.
(rt) In his AGoToGuy’s Weblog Joe Holcomb, CEO of PPC engine → Blowsearch, has enthusiastically announced the soon-to-come launch of their click fraud detection tool:
BlowSearch’s long awaited product for click fraud detection is coming and it will amaze even the most skeptical critics. It works folks, and it works better than we ever imagined it would.
Well, while we see no reason to doubt his sincerity, we do reserve further judgment until we’ve actually seen it work. But in view of PPC engines’ historical reluctance to even acknowledge the issue in any meaningful, committed manner we are not exactly holding our breath. The way we view it, pay-per-click technology is so basically flawed, read: fraud-prone, that we find it hard to believe that any technological gimmickry, however sophisticated, will actually ever be capable to tackle the problem effectively.
But ok, never say never: we’ll be as open minded about it as we reasonably can without having to conjure up blissful specters of PPC miracles …
This said, even if their tool should prove to do the trick, the bets are on how long it will take until someone cracks or reverse engineers it to render it ineffective.

There’s a thread on Threadwatch on it, too, making reference to two tools named DefenderT and Click Defender without divulging sources:
