Search Engine Relevancy Challenge Launched
(rt) Some weeks ago, Rustybrick of Search Engine Roundtable proposed a → relevancy challenge for search engines:
In this challenge, I proposed building a “white labeled” search engine, that randomly selected results from one of the top four engines and asked you to rate the search engine results, individually, from one to five.
Well, this white label search engine is out now (though officially to launch only tomorrow) and you can find it here: → RustySearch
Before you rush there to see how you’re ranked for whatever specific keyword, however, remember that this is a relevancy experiment, not a rank checking tool! Rather, search on terms like any other user, i. e. when you have an information search need, outside of rank checking.
As it says on site:
Relevancy is a very subjective figure to measure. The goal is for you to search on a keyword phrase, then look at the results. If the results satisfy your information search, then the result is relevant. If not, then the result is not relevant. There is no right or wrong answer.
Thumbs up to Rustybrick and best of success – we’ve contributed our first tests already and will continue to do so over the next weeks.
