New Google Proxy IP Range for Web Accelerator Detected
(bro) An initial quick and dirty series of tests on Google’s → Web Accelerator has revealed a first set of proxy IPs. E. g. if you visit a web site with Internet Explorer, traffic is funneled through the Google proxy server.
This is typically displayed in your log files as a Google IP in combo with your own browser’s UserAgent variable.
The following proxy IPs could be verified in the course of this (again: very preliminary) test:
72.14.192.7
72.14.192.11
72.14.192.14
This is an entirely new, presumably dedicated IP range not employed to date by any Google spiders. Up until now, Google would only make use of a single proxy IP within any given IP range.
We’ll be monitoring this further – make sure you check out our site regularly for updates!
