fantomTip:
Typo Generator For Your Keyword Selection
(rt) It is common wisdom among the SEO community that there’s a lot of traffic to be made from common typos and misspellings hardly anyone else is targeting. Many corporations tend to shun this approach fearing that it will convey an unprofessional image to their visitors. While there’s something to be said for this policy, it still seems regrettable not to utilize all that misspelling driven traffic out there. If you’re cloaking with Shadow Domains™ it’s not much of an issue: it will only be your (or your clients’) SDs that will appear in the search results pages and more often than not people probably won’t take notice anyway.
If nothing else, a case could be made for using typos and misspellings as a service to the orthographically challenged, so it does actually add to usability without incommodating searchers.
While this site’s UI is a bit of an involuntarily comic example of Denglish (a mixture of German and English), it’s self-explanatory and cool enough to merit mention here:
Enter your targete keywords and search phrases (one per line) and select the paramaters you want to make use of: Skip Letter, Double Letters, Reverse Letters, etc. Hit “Generate” and – bingo! It’s a very fast script and highly useful.
Note however that it’s obviously not empirical: it doesn’t seem to work from any given semantic corpus of real life common misspellings as determined by actual observation. Rather, it simply permutates the character strings in accordance with the specific set of rules defined. However, for most purposes this should be more than good enough – seeing that you easily blow up a keyword list from 2K to 20K, it might even constitute a bit of an overkill.
