Search Via Browser Address Bar
(rt) Who says that competition doesn’t invigorate innovation? MetaFoxx, a search engine newcomer designed by Thomas Promny in Hamburg, Germany has realized that they’ll have to offer some really nifty new feature(s) to break out of the ghetto of “also rans”:
MetaFoxx is an innovative search engine. Our goal is to provide our users with the desired search results as quickly and easily as possible.
That’s why MetaFoxx offers the unique function, to enter the Queries directly into the address-bar of the browser, without any additional software installation.
This actually works quite neatly. Try it out here and look at your browser address bar:
→ MetaFoxx search for googlebowling
Change the search term in the address bar and see what happens.
In the left column you will frequently find alternate search suggestions where available which can help drill down your query for more relevant results.
One things we don’t like particularly is that results tend to be pretty heavily lopsided in favor of sponsored links. True, sponsored entries are clearly marked as such but more often than not they seem to dominate results – lots of scope for improvement here, even though monetization has to be catered to, of course. But perhaps less is more?
Finally, you can add a search box to your own web page or blog such as this one:
