Cloaking Software Developers Web Site Blocked + Censored By Chinese Government

It was only today that I had a chance at checking out a Web service someone had pointed me to recently to check if your site (or any other URL for that matter) is being blocked by the Chinese government’s nefarious censorship apparatchiks.

Well, censored and blocked it is! While the specific reasons for this action are really anybody’s guess, we do like to flatter ourselves that it may actually be our outspoken hardline stance on privacy protection that has earned us that particular privilege.

Then again, maybe the Chinese government is merely lending a supportive tit-for-tat hand to their spineless collaborative chums at Google or Yahoo! in their crusade against cloakers? Whatever.

Not that they seem to be doing a lot of good preventing Chinese spam mail from hitting our servers at a rate of 4-5K each and every day…
