Another Mod Done Gone: Dave Naylor Banned From WebmasterWorld
UK SEO bigshot Dave Naylor reports that he has finally been given the sack as a moderator at WebmasterWorld without notice:
oopps I guess, Brett didn’t like the cloaking thread and I guess I won’t be asked to speak at Vegas.
In his blog’s comments section someone claiming to be WMW’s Brett Tabke (but strangely misspelling “his” own name…) purports otherwise which Dave again denies.
If so, it wouldn’t be the first high profile mod to leave WMW for greener pastures, most of them quitting voluntarily because of the deteriorating noise:news ratio, due to insurmountable differences regarding both working style and permissible posts topics, an incommensurate chemistry, etc.
While we won’t list any names here, we personally know at least a half dozen household names in SEO who have stated that they preferred not to aid and abet the WMW project anymore once they had come to view their efforts as a thankless task with ever the same one and only party actually raking in the profits, be it money wise be it terms of cachet.
It’s essentially what made the likes of now-defunct Threadwatch and arguably even Syndk8 necessary in the first place, of course…
