The Evil, the Ugly and the Untruthful: Aaron Wall on the Search Engines’ Obfuscation Policies
It would be a nice world, if everyone were as truthful and open about whatever they’re doing and offering as they could. The search engine marketing is no exception.
However, as every adult knows, it doesn’t pay to adopt a naive stance and get suckered all the time. And again this applies to the world of search as much as to anything else.
So if you still believe in the search engines’ blogs and public announcements and whatever purportedly “helpful” advice their spinmeisters (aka reps and engineers) are feeing you, it may be time to reconsider: You may be losing out bigtime in terms of rankings, wasted efforts and, of course, money.
And while Aaron Wall of SEOBook has proved himself a master of linkbait and hands on advice for years, mere linkbait this article certainly isn’t: It’s about the most devastating and factually underpinned critique of current search engine policies and the tons of technical issues they’re trying to brush over with blatant bragaddocio I’ve seen in quite a while.
Also, it’s anything but hysterical or hyped, not a hint of raving anti search engine ideology – all of which makes it a great and extremely useful and instructive piece as well.
