It’s not everyday that someone hits you with something totally obvious in a field you thought you knew practically everything about. What’s worse, with something you could easily have unearthed yourself with just a teeny weeny bit of due diligence. Talk about doing your homework…
I don’t know about you but I for my part certainly wasn’t aware of this payment instrument which can literally slash PayPal transaction costs by hundreds of dollars if you’re a heavy user, especially when you’re running an affiliate program paying your publishers via PP and you play it right: your affiliates will save stiff commission fees, a feature you could easily offer as an additional incentive your competitors to all probability aren’t even aware of.
Alternatively, if you’re on the receiving end you could nag your partners to use this feature and offer them to deduct their fees when transferring funds – this could still save you plenty of money in a whiffy.
So all kudos to Ben Shaffer for uncovering this! I won’t reveal the entire mechanism here because that would be unfair on him: his recent post Paypal’s Biggest Secret lets you in on it, demo video and all. So do go and check it out there. (Excellent link bait, too!)
